Dr. Susan Bowen, Durham Tech vice president and chief operations officer, has been appointed by the Board of Directors of the American Association of Community Colleges to serve on the Commission on Institutional Infrastructure and Transformation.
Natural Hair Care Specialist is a 300-hour course designed to teach students how to care for natural hair without the use of chemicals and hair color. The style techniques include braiding, twisting, wrapping, extending, and locking natural hair.
Most buildings at Durham Tech are currently assigned a Building Safety Captain. These individuals are your colleagues who are trained to ensure the safety of their assigned buildings’ occupants. Building Safety Captains are trained to effectively assess situations and provide safety instruction and assistance to employees, students, and visitors.
Durham Tech’s Early Childhood Education program recently honored students participating in apprenticeships at a signing ceremony, where 16 apprenticeships were signed. Speakers included Durham Tech instructors as well as students of the program. The ceremony started with a quote about how the love of children is placed first in the program’s plan.
