Pilar Rocha-Goldberg, President and CEO of El Centro Hispano, has joined the Durham Technical Community College Board of Trustees. Rocha-Goldberg was appointed by N.C. Gov. Roy Cooper to replace board member Rick Adams, whose term ended in June. She was officially sworn in on Oct. 8 and is the first Latinx member of the Durham Tech board.

Students will now be able to earn their early childhood education associate’s degree in less time through a new fast-track pathway at Durham Technical Community College.

The following types of events would be considered emergencies and should be directly called in to ext. 6213 or ext. 6206 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or ext. 5555, after 5 p.m. - safety items, issues related to disability (ADA), running water, sewer back-up, and computer lab temperature above 80 degrees. All other events will normally be handled as routine maintenance and service.
As debates rage about the value of higher education and confidence continues to erode in the impact of higher education institutions, community colleges need to remind the public and policymakers of their mission and demonstrate the understandable and measurable effects for the students they enroll and the communities they serve.
