One could say Mary Anne Fuller Grabarek’s ties to the city of Durham and Durham Tech began as early as 1957 when she moved from New York to Lawton, Oklahoma, the hometown of former College President, Phail Wynn.
Dr. Phail Wynn Jr, was president of Durham Technical Community College from 1980-2007. When Dr. Wynn made a generous donation to the library in 2007, the library created a special collection in his name. Dr. Wynn requested the collection pertain to socially responsible topics such as ecology and the environment, cultural awareness, global citizenship, teaching tolerance, appreciating diversity, fighting poverty, and promoting world peace. The speech followed a tour of the William G. Ingram Center for Learning and Applied Technology with demonstrations from an electrical apprenticeship partnership with the Raleigh-Durham Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC).

Price to support the new workforce partnership between RTP Bio and the two colleges.
Durham Tech and Wake Tech announced a joint RTP Bio partnership in March – a new workforce development collaboration that unites biotechnology, biomanufacturing, and biopharmaceutical talent pipelines of the two community colleges in the Research Triangle Park region.
Congressman Price said that $1.2 million in funding that he was able to secure for the RTP Bio Workforce Development Project was included in the recently passed Fiscal Year 2022 appropriations omnibus, which included critical direct spending opportunities referred to as Community Project Funding.

The Cast Partial Denture certificate is comprised of three courses. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of gnathalogical concepts and the fabrication of special types of removable restorations.
The Finish Line Grant program helps students complete their education when facing unforeseen challenges. In partnership with the Durham Workforce Development Board and the Regional Partnership Workforce Development Board, Durham Tech offers access to these funds for students who have completed at least 50 percent of their credit or non-credit program and are in good academic standing.
