News: Seven Durham Tech Students to Attend NC State on Prestigious Goodnight Scholarships
Seven Durham Tech students will be attending NC State beginning this fall on Goodnight Scholarships, valued at $23,000 per year for up to three years for transfer students from low- and middle-income families in North Carolina who are studying in a STEM or STEM-education field.  
Drug and Alcohol - Students

Recently, our community lost an important figure in Durham Tech’s history – and key contributor to improving opportunity and life outcomes for people across the region. On Feb. 20, 2025, former Durham Tech Board of Trustees member James I. Bolden passed away at the age of 100.
News: Durham County voters approve $112 million bond referendum to fund new training centers in healthcare, life sciences at Durham Tech
Durham County voters overwhelmingly supported a $112.7 million bond referendum Tuesday that will construct two state-of-the-art facilities for healthcare and life sciences training.

With booming career opportunities in healthcare and life sciences, Durham Tech is well-positioned to train local talent and provide a diverse workforce pipeline to area companies. Durham Tech leadership has worked with industry partners to plan and design the new facilities.

Durham Tech President J.B. Buxton thanked Durham voters for their support Tuesday and said the new facilities would put more Durham residents in high paying careers.
News: From dual enrollment student to trailblazer in the fight against diabetes
Madelyn Spencer, a former Durham Tech dual enrollment student and current Novo Nordisk employee, received her high school diploma while she earned her associate's degree in engineering during the summer of 2024 by going through the college’s Career and College Promise program. Spencer said Durham Tech taught her the technical side of the profession, and life sciences showed her how it applies to the jobs she saw herself doing.
Project Skill Up Scholarship
Project Skilling Up provides help in exploring contemporary career paths and resources regarding employment possibilities in the area. For students who reside in Durham or Orange counties, Project Skilling Up can provide funding for tuition or books for curriculum and Continuing Education training.

This review course is for individuals familiar with Nurse Aide I skills and concepts to prepare students for the NC Nurse Aide I Competency Evaluation.
