The Public Safety Management Certificate is designed to provide students, as well as practitioners, with knowledge and skills in the technical, managerial, and administrative areas necessary for entrance or advancement within various public safety management job positions

The Public Safety Administration Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree curriculum is designed to provide students, as well as practitioners, with knowledge and skills in the technical, managerial, and administrative areas necessary for entrance or advancement within various public safety and government organizations.
Durham Public Schools and Durham Tech announced a major new partnership with the goal of ensuring that 25 percent of Durham Public Schools students will complete a Durham Tech workforce credential or associate degree by the time they graduate high school. DPS and Durham Tech have committed to putting in place key strategies and supports to ensure that at least 500 students each year are graduating graduate with an associate degree in addition to their high school diploma, or a credential that will enable them to enter the workforce immediately. This goal is unparalleled in the state.
Regional newspaper editor and former Durham Tech student Robyn Tomlin will be this year’s guest speaker for the College’s commencement ceremony in May.
Last February, Tomlin, an accomplished journalist, stepped into the new role of regional editor for the Carolinas. She currently serves as the top editor responsible for eight McClatchy-owned publications in North and South Carolina, including The Herald-Sun in Durham and The News & Observer in Raleigh.

This course is designed to prepare the student to meet the Advanced EMT credential level in order to work effectively in the chain of the healthcare team.
