News: Durham Tech to host the Black Farmers Market every other Sunday
The Black Farmer's Market will be held on the Durham Tech main campus every other Sunday starting April 16 and is open to the public from 1 to 4 p.m. Shoppers will find fresh produce and meats from Black local farmers and ranchers. There will be cooking demonstrations, family entertainment, music and food trucks. The Black Farmers’ Market accepts SNAP and participates in the Double Bucks program supported by Duke Health.

Students who ultimately wish to complete a baccalaureate science degree at a four-year college or university would complete the Associate in Science (AS) degree. Curriculum courses focus on courses such as biology, chemistry, engineering, geology, mathematics, or physics.

News: Pulitzer winner who attended Durham Tech will be 2023 Commencement speaker
Pulitzer Prize winner and former Durham Technical Community College student Elizabeth Fenn will be the college’s 2023 Spring Commencement keynote speaker.

Dr. Fenn won the Pulitzer in the history category in 2015 for her book “Encounters at the Heart of the World: A History of the Mandan People,” which explores the role of the Native American tribe over the course of centuries
News: VP Dr. Susan Bowen selected for Aspen Institute’s Rising Presidents Fellowship
The Aspen Institute College Excellence Program announced Wednesday, April 5, that Durham Technical Community College Vice President and Chief Campus Operations Officer Dr. Susan Bowen is one of 35 leaders selected for the 2023-24 class of the Aspen Rising Presidents Fellowship. This program, delivered in collaboration with the Stanford Educational Leadership Initiative, prepares the next generation of community college presidents to transform institutions to achieve higher and more equitable levels of student success.  
News: Durham Tech among 16 colleges selected nationwide to pilot program to improve economic outcomes 
Achieving the Dream has announced its inaugural national cohort of 16 colleges, including Durham Tech, for a national pilot program that will improve outcomes on their campuses and in their communities by enhancing economic opportunity, reducing poverty, and engaging with underserved populations.
