Cosmetology, Manicuring, and Natural Hair Care Salon

Durham Tech programs provide hair, nail, and makeup services at reduced prices. The salon is staffed by Durham Tech students as part of their program requirements.

Clinics are open to the public but patrons must be at least 18 years of age. Services and pricing are listed below (services, times, and prices may vary).

Natural Hair Care

Shampoo, Blow Dry & Flat Iron	$35	Please be aware this service may take longer than the time allotted. All work done by supervised students.
Shampoo and Round Brush	$25	Hair is blow dried with a round brush adding body and curl. Please be aware this service may take longer than the time allotted. All work done by supervised students.
Shampoo, Condition, and Blowdry	$15	Hair is blow dried straight with a regular brush. Please be aware this service may take longer than the time allotted. All work done by supervised students.
Shampoo Press and Curl	$40	This service is geared toward clients with natural coily hair with a strong curl pattern. Please be aware this service may take longer than the time allotted. All work done by supervised students.
Shampoo and Condition Only	$10	Please be aware this service may take longer than the time allotted. This only includes the shampoo and conditioning service - no blow dry or style. All work done by supervised students.
Hair Cut (add-on service)	Starting at $15	Shampoo, condition, and style are additional charges. This includes clipper cut or scissor cut. A shampoo and condition is required to be serviced by our students. All work done by supervised students.
Retouch Relaxer	Starting at $40	Please be aware this service may take longer than the time allotted. All work done by supervised students.
Virgin Relaxer	Starting at $60	Please be aware this service may take longer than the time allotted. All work done by supervised students.
Soft Curl Permanent Wave	$80	Jheri Curl. Please be aware this service may take longer than the time allotted. All work done by supervised students.
Long Hair Permanent Wave	Starting at $65	Please be aware this service may take longer than the time allotted. Price may vary based on hair length. All work done by supervised students.
Hair Color Patch Test	Free	A patch test is required at least 24 hours in advance of a hair color appointment. A student will use a small amount of product on the client to test for any adverse reactions. This is usually done the day before the hair color appointment. This only has to be done the first time the client receives a hair coloring service from Durham Tech.
Temporary/Color Rinse	Starting at $15	Must have patch test at least 24 hours before receiving service. Includes 2 oz. of product. Additional product is $10 per additional 2 oz. used. Please be aware that this service may take longer than the time allotted. All work done by supervised students.
Permanent Hair Color	Starting at $50	Must have patch test at least 24 hours before receiving service. Includes 2 oz. of product. Additional product is $10 per additional 2 oz. used. This service includes the blow dry and style. Please be aware that this service may take longer than the time allotted. All work done by supervised students.
Lightening	Starting at $70	Must have patch test at least 24 hours before receiving service. Includes 2 oz. of product. Additional product is $10 per additional 2 oz. used. Highlights	Starting at $80	Must have patch test at least 24 hours before receiving service. Includes 2 oz. of product. Additional product is $10 per additional 2 oz. used. Dandruff Treatment (add-on service)	$5	Shampoo, condition, and style are additional charges. A shampoo and condition is required to be serviced by our students. All work done by supervised students.
Hot Oil Treatment (add-on service)	$10	Shampoo, condition, and style are additional charges. A shampoo and condition is required to be serviced by our students. All work done by supervised students.
Hair Mask Treatment (add-on service)	$15	Shampoo, condition, and style are additional charges. A shampoo and condition is required to be serviced by our students. All work done by supervised students.
Protein Treatment (add-on service)	$10	Shampoo, condition, and style are additional charges. A shampoo and condition is required to be serviced by our students. All work done by supervised students.
Hair Trim (add-on service)	$10	Shampoo, condition, and style are additional charges. Trims include bangs, ends, or shape-ups. A shampoo and condition is required to be serviced by our students. All work done by supervised students.
Shampoo & Doobie Wrap	$20	Hair is washed, roller set then wrapped. Please be aware this service may take longer than the time allotted. All work done by supervised students.
Shampoo & Fingerwaves (full head)	$25	Please be aware this service may take longer than the time allotted. All work done by supervised students.

Basic Cornrows	Starting at $40	Shampoo and condition is included in this service. This service may take several hours. All work done by supervised students.
Basic Cornrows with Extension (8 braids max)	Starting at $50	Shampoo and condition is included in this service. Clients must bring their own hair.  Hair must be new in package. Maximum of 8 braids. This service may take several hours. All work done by supervised students.
Design Cornrows	Starting at $60	Shampoo and condition is included in this service. This service may take several hours. All work done by supervised students.
