Durham Tech College Fair

Many colleges and universities will be here on campus on November 6, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. for our College Fair on the Main Campus Plaza.  It’s a great opportunity to talk to a lot of college admissions representatives at one time, and ask them about programs their college offers, admissions, financial aid, housing, and more.

UNC System Virtual Transfer Fair

Register now for the UNC System Virtual Transfer Fair, Tuesday, September 30 through Thursday, October 2.All prospective transfer students, supporters, and NC Community College support staff are invited to attend this event to learn about transfer opportunities at 15 UNC System institutions!


National Transfer Student Week

If your goal is to transfer for spring or fall 2026, consider applying during the October 20-24, National Transfer Student Week, when many universities will waive their application fee. Join us also that week for Drop in and Apply sessions (Tuesday, 10/21, 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.; Wednesday, 10/22, noon - 2:00 p.m., and Thursday, 10/23, 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.) when you can work on and get help with applications in the Transfer Center (Building 3, Room 126).

How to Apply Workshops

Planning to transfer in 2026? Join us for a hold How to Apply Workshop on September 9 (in person in the Transfer Center, Phillips, Building 3, Room 126) and 10 (via Zoom, e-mail transfercenter@durhamtech.edu for the link to join) at 3:30 pm.  We’ll talk about the nuts and bolts of the Transfer Common Application and how to write strong application and scholarship essays.


How to Win a Big National Scholarship

Whether you are just beginning your transfer degree at Durham Tech or close to the end, now is the time to learn more about how to earn a transfer scholarship. We’ll talk about how to position yourself with the grades, activities, and faculty recommendations required to earn a major scholarship such as the Jack Kent Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship or the Goodnight Scholarship at NC State. Please join us for a hands-on workshop on Wednesday, September 17, from 4:00-5:00 in the Transfer Center, Phillips, Building 3, Room 126 on Main Campus.


Transfer Planning Workshop for Non-US Citizens

Join us for a workshop designed especially for Durham Tech's international students who plan to transfer. We’ll talk about transfer universities, resources, and scholarships for students not able to apply for federal financial aid.  It's Tuesday, October 14, at 4:00 pm via Zoom. Colleges Visit for Fall Fest

Many colleges and universities will join us for Fall Fest, our annual outdoor celebration, on Wednesday, September 24, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the Main Campus Plaza. Stop by to ask transfer questions and learn more about our partner colleges and universities.

Appalachian State University

Meet with App State representative Kristi Leff on October 23, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, and December 2 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Collins (Building 2) foyer. 

East Carolina University

ECU is offering a BSIT/Technology Systems Transfer Day on Friday, November 7, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.  ECU’s Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology degree is a transfer-friendly option for our technical Associate in Applied Science graduates, including Information Technology, Automotive, Electrical Systems and Electronics Engineering, Architectural Technology, Biomedical Equipment, and Industrial Systems. UNC Chapel Hill

UNC Greensboro

You’re invited to a virtual Transfer Information Program (TIP) on October 16 at 6:00 pm. UNCG will waive their $65 application fee for students who attend (register here). In addition, visit UNCG for their Open House on Saturday, November 8: Open House RSVP.

Western Carolina University
