Life can be unorganized, and with all the digital options out there, choosing productivity and other helpful "life" apps can almost be an additional burden. In order to help narrow down a huge playing field, the library asked Durham Tech faculty and staff what their favorite productivity apps are for managing their time and life. Some almost across-the-board similarities were an ability to sync between devices and between platforms. Cloud-based storage and collaboration was also key. Calendar

Starting a new semester can be both exciting and daunting, whether you're a new or returning student. It's important to set yourself up for success. Here are some brand new books that you can check out from the library this week or next week. Our new book shelf is stocked with many new fiction and nonfiction titles for you to borrow. Harper Lee's highly anticipated second novel, Go Set a Watchman, will be released Tues. July 14. It has been suggested that Go Set a Watchman was written before Lee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning 1960 novel, To Kill A Mockingbird. Details have emerged that Lee's publisher, asked her to rewrite “Watchman” to focus on the perspective of Scout as a child. The Digital Public Library of America (DPLA, http://dp.la) is a virtual library that makes photographic and other resources available from libraries across the United States. It organizes these resources into themed exhibitions (such as Women with Wings: American Aviatrixes), a map and a timeline. Content comes into the DPLA from a variety of libraries, museums, archives and other cultural institutions. Many of the resources are old photographs or scans of letters that are not subject to

On June 10, 2015, Librarian of Congress James H. Billington announced the appointment of Juan Felipe Herrera as the 21st US Poet Laureate.
