Computer network support specialists analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems and internet systems. They also deal with computer security in such capacities as configuring security settings or access permissions; analyzing and reporting computer network security breaches or attempted breaches; and installing network software such as firewall software.
The Information Technology Network Security curriculum at Durham Tech offers several options to help you start your way towards this career. Students will learn how to communicate complex technical issues related to computer hardware, software, and networks in a manner that computer users can understand. They will learn about computer operations and terminology, operating systems, database, networking, security, and technical support.
