Durham Tech is the community college of the City of Medicine, Durham and Orange counties, and the Research Triangle. Whether students are looking to build lifelong skills, gain career experience, achieve certifications, or take the first steps towards a bachelor’s degree from one of the prestigious neighboring universities, Durham Tech has what they need. Since 1961, the College has provided high-quality, affordable, and convenient technical and career education. The College has provided a first choice and a second chance at success to thousands of Triangle residents. For more than 55 years, Durham Technical Community College has been an economic driver in the Triangle, dedicated to innovation and to meeting the region’s needs for a smart, reliable, and versatile workforce.

Durham Tech offers more than 100 credential programs under its newly implemented Guided Careers Pathway structure, combining curriculum and continuing education programs to help students more efficiently stay on track in earning their degree, certificate, or diploma, allowing them to enter their career sooner.

The programs at Durham Tech are ever-growing and evolving based on the community’s employment needs. In 2019 alone, the College expanded its program offerings to include Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, and Electrical Line Technician. In North Carolina, Durham Tech is the only college to offer programs in Opticianry and Anesthesia Technology and the only community college to offer a Clinical Trials Research Associate program.
