News: Remembering John Burness, a dedicated advocate for Durham & Durham Tech
John Burness, Chair of the Durham Technical Community College Board of Trustees, died on Monday, December 19, at the age of 77. 

From a storied career at Duke University, where he retired in 2008 as the senior vice president of public affairs and government relations, to his continued community and board leadership at Durham Tech, Burness was an influential leader known for his insight, wit, and compassion. 
Clinical Research
Students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in Clinical Research may complete the Associate in Science (AS) degree or complete an AAS degree that will transfer to Campbell University.
News: Novo Nordisk to support Durham Tech’s life sciences programs and new training center with $6 million gift
Novo Nordisk, a leading global healthcare company that produces innovative medicines to treat diabetes and rare blood disorders, announces a $6 million gift to Durham Technical Community College to support the College’s life sciences program and a new 35,000-square-foot Life Sciences Training Center. This donation was presented today at a news conference on Durham Tech’s Main Campus.
News: 60 for 60: With Orange County Campus, Durham Tech centralized training hub for residents
When former Durham Technical Community College President Bill Ingram cut the ribbon at the grand opening of the Orange County Campus in May 2008, a new pathway to academic and career successes was created for Orange County residents, but it was a long road to get there.

Prior to the Orange County Campus, Durham Tech had offered credit and non-credit courses in more than 40 Orange County locations since 1999. Classes were taught in high schools, community centers, churches, the Orange County Skills Development Center, and several other locations throughout the county.
Information Technology
There are two pathways for students to transfer to a baccalaureate science degree in Information Technology at a four-year college or university.
Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP)
The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), P3Connect, seeks to provide students with an integrated network of services and learning opportunities that will empower them to evaluate their interests and abilities, set academic and career goals, develop the necessary skills, and advance toward their career goals.
Medical Coding (Continuing Education)
The following courses teach the skills and concepts necessary for entry-level coding positions in a variety of health care facilities.
Successful Project Management (Continuing Education)
The Successful Project Management Continuing Education course is designed specifically for the practicing project manager and the future manager.

Policies and Procedure Manual: The procedures outlined here delineate the roles and responsibilities that should be assumed by college personnel following the death of a currently enrolled Durham Technical Community College student.
