Annual compliance training is mandatory for all employees of Durham Tech.
All curriculum students (credit programs) are charged a student administrative fee each fall, spring and summer semester. These funds support student clubs and social activities, computer and technology use, college parking and security, student ID cards, and accident insurance for students participating in college classes and functions.

Bank of America has selected Durham Technical Community College Foundation as one of this year’s two Neighborhood Builder award winners.
The Foundation will be awarded $200,000 over the next two years towards various projects undertaken by the Center for College and Community Service as well as leadership training.
Dr. Micara Lewis-Sessoms has led efforts in Work-Based Education at Durham Tech since 2007.
The idea behind Work-Based Education was to connect students with employers while enrolled at the College so they could gain invaluable work experience before graduating and ensure their chosen career path was a good fit for them.
“I want to have the impact of a connector of students to employers. That connection can change the trajectory of their whole lives. It can change their legacy,” she said. “I always tell students, ‘you’re about to embark on a 160-hour interview.’”
Durham Tech partners with local public schools so qualified students may attend rigorous and innovative schools like the Durham Early College of Health Sciences, City of Medicine Academy, Hillside New Tech.
