The Digital Public Library of America (DPLA, http://dp.la) is a virtual library that makes photographic and other resources available from libraries across the United States. It organizes these resources into themed exhibitions (such as Women with Wings: American Aviatrixes), a map and a timeline. The new Durham Tech Promise program is making college more affordable – reducing tuition by as much as half for eligible students.
The program provides up to $1,000 each year for two years to eligible students. That means eligible in-state students who take a full-time 12-hour credit course load would only have to pay about half of the tuition.
