News: Project TALK’s ‘We are the World’ event broadens understanding and appreciation
In mid-February, about 100 Durham Tech students and employees came to Project TALK’s “We are the World” event to broaden their understanding and appreciation of each other. 
News: 60 for 60: Durham Tech was second community college in North Carolina to offer telecourses
When the television industry was booming in the 1970’s, Durham Technical Institute took advantage. In 1979, the College led the initiative of developing the North Carolina Consortium for Instructional Telecommunications (NCCIT).

President Phail Wynn, Jr. and Augusta Julian, former Durham Tech employee, developed the idea of offering telecourses throughout the North Carolina Community College system, which led to the development of the consortium.

This initiative allowed community colleges, technical colleges, and technical institutes to use technology to provide distance learning to adults in North Carolina.

Clinical Research
Students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in Clinical Research may complete the Associate in Science (AS) degree or complete an AAS degree that will transfer to Campbell University.

Medical Equipment Repairers inspect and test malfunctioning medical or related equipment, following manufacturers' specifications and using test and analysis instruments.
Construction Trades (Continuing Education)
The Construction Trades program provides training for entry-level positions in varied trade areas and skill building for those currently employed.
Medical Assistants
Medical assistants obtain and record patient’s medical history and vital statistics, draw blood, prep the patient for examination, and perform routine lab tests.

Durham Tech has been awarded a $400,000 Digital Champion grant to help North Carolinians access and use high-speed Internet, according to a news release Tuesday from the N.C. Department of Information Technology's Office of Digital Equity and Literacy.
