Betty Lyons, director of Adult Basic Education, is emotional when she talks about leaving her career of 43 years behind, tearing up as she talks about the students she has worked with over the years. Durham Tech Community College’s Board of Trustees welcomed new board Chair Dr. Pat Ashley and new Vice Chair Gracie Johnson-Lopez to their new roles Tuesday, Aug. 19. The board unanimously elected them in June and their terms began July 1 and will run through June 2026.
