Durham Tech’s Phlebotomy Program recently applied for and received its first accreditation from the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians.

In August, Durham Tech celebrated Convocation to kick off the new school year, find out what's in store for the College and reunite with colleagues. Students who ultimately wish to complete a baccalaureate of arts degree in Music Performance at a four-year college or university would complete the Associate in Arts (AA) degree.
The new Durham Early College of Health Sciences – a partnership of Durham Tech, Durham Public Schools and Duke Health – is actively recruiting its first class of students for when the school opens in fall 2025.
Enrollment for the new early college opens in January for current eighth-grade students in Durham County. The school will eventually serve students in grades nine through 12.

The wise words of Dr. Phail Wynn, Jr. filled the DPAC auditorium during Durham Tech’s 2018 commencement ceremony.

Use your knowledge and skills wisely, to the benefit and betterment of your community and of society as a whole.”

Former Durham Tech Board of Trustees member James I. Bolden, an important figure in Durham Tech’s history and key contributor to improving opportunity and life outcomes for people across the region, died Feb. 20, 2025, at the age of 100.
