High school seniors who have not yet graduated receive provisional acceptance to the college once they have completed the enrollment application and residency determination. This allows students to get a head start on completing the enrollment process.

For students who first language is not US English, the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program can help improve your higher-level English skills necessary for to successfully complete coursework.

Admission Step 2Complete an online application

Admission Step 3 Complete residency determination to establish if students qualify for in-state or out-of-state tuition.

Admission Step 4 Sign up for a ConnectSession.

This orientation session is required for all incoming students with less than 12 completed college credits.

Admission Step 5 Apply for financial aid.

Durham Tech’s school code: 005448 – You must be admitted to a program to receive financial aid. Visiting students do not qualify.

Please note: If students who are provisionally accepted are approved for financial aid, their aid will not be disbursed until  proof of their high school graduation has been confirmed.

Admission Step 6 Submit official transcripts.

To complete the enrollment process and move from provisional acceptance to being officially admitted to your chosen program of study, the college must have proof of your high school completion on file. Check with your high school or Durham Tech High School Liaison to learn the date after June graduation when transcripts will have final grades and confirmation of graduation. Use CFNC to request an electronic high school transcript be sent to Durham Tech.

Admission Step 7 Meet with an advisor.

Contact Advising Services on Main Campus or at the Orange County Campus.

New students will be assigned to a faculty advisor when classes begin. Students must meet with an advisor every semester to register for classes.
