We're calling all makers, artists, crafters, and those looking to try something new or have fun, to join us for Crafternoon! The Library and Student Government Association are looking forward to hosting our craft workshop series again this spring semester for students, faculty, and staff. Workshops are held in the Library’s Group Study Area room 105A on the lower level of Main Campus Library as well as other campus locations noted below. Workshops will also be held at the Orange County Campus
Durham Tech Library staff have compiled the best books we read and the best movies we watched this year. We have featured some of these titles on a display on the lower level of the library. We may be reaching the end of February and American Heart Month, but we can pump out a month-end blog post. (That pun was weak. I know. Let's not talk about it, okay?) This year's theme is "Live to the Beat," which aims to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease in Black adults ages 35 to 54 by taking small steps to address key risk factors such as hypertension, high blood pressure, and high blood sugar. EBSCOhost has offered Durham Tech temporary access to its eBook Academic Collection to help students and instructors during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, Durham Tech has set up a trial subscription with EBSCOhost for its eBook Community College Collection. Between the two collections, that's over 200,000 e-books, 88,000 of which are unique among Durham Tech's current e-books. It's hard to imagine tens of thousands of books.
