News: Durham Early College for Health Sciences celebrates opening with ribbon cutting
Durham Public Schools, Durham Tech, and Bloomberg Philanthropies joined Duke leaders on Wednesday in celebrating the ribbon-cutting of the new Durham Early College for Health Sciences (DECHS). Located in Research Triangle Park and made possible through a $29+ million grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies, the school is a collaborative effort to position Durham and the Triangle as a model for preparing the next generation of health care providers.
News: Two Durham Tech students win in Uproar Festival public art competition
Two Durham Tech students were recently selected to be a part of the Uproar Festival of Public Art contest. Both Archer Fralix, a fine arts student, and Stu Beavers, in the welding program, started formal training in their art at the College, and while they may work in different mediums, they both have a passion for public art.

Brandon Armani, a veteran and Durham Tech student since 2024, was invited to attend the Chicago area Warrior-Scholar Project Academic Bootcamp where he had the opportunity to develop the skills, confidence and strategies needed to thrive in higher education. The bootcamp was held at the University of Chicago and lasted seven days.
News: Ram Jack establishes new scholarship for skilled trades
Ram Jack Foundation Solutions, a Durham-based foundation repair and restoration business founded by Rick Sykes over 30 years ago, recently established a new scholarship at Durham Technical Community College for the skilled trades. The goal of this scholarship is simple but powerful: to remove financial barriers and create pathways into meaningful, stable careers in industries that keep our communities running.
