Building Safety Captains
Most buildings at Durham Tech are currently assigned a Building Safety Captain. These individuals are your colleagues who are trained to ensure the safety of their assigned buildings’ occupants. Building Safety Captains are trained to effectively assess situations and provide safety instruction and assistance to employees, students, and visitors.

For the seventh consecutive year, Durham Technical Community College has partnered with Sister Cities of Durham to host students from the Sister City of Toyama, Japan – nearly 200 miles northwest of Tokyo – for an English immersion program, which is housed at the Durham Tech Small Business and Corporate Education Center.

Phage Hunters Lab
This discovery-based undergraduate research course is a unique and challenging experience for motivated Durham Tech students. The course is a national experiment sponsored by the Howard Hughes Medical Research Institute and space is limited to 18 students each year.
Science and Math
Durham Tech’s Science and Math department offers courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics to support STEM, healthcare, and transfer degree pathways.

Join us for monthly science-related lectures.
Phlebotomist
These medical personnel draw blood for tests, transfusions, blood drives, and research.
Correctional Officer and Jailer
Correctional Officers monitor conduct of prisoners according to established policies, regulations, and procedures, to prevent escape or violence.
Skincare Specialist
Skincare Specialists provide skincare treatments to faces and bodies to enhance their client's appearance.
