Durham Tech Board of Trustees member Dr. Pat Ashley has spent her career and retirement dedicated to public education.

Durham Technical Community College was notified last week of its approval to participate in the NASA High Altitude Student Platform – or HASP project – for a second consecutive year.

This course provides the knowledge and skills required to become a pharmacy technician. Pharmacy technicians work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist for the safe, accurate preparation and dispensing of medications in both hospital and community settings.
Former Durham Tech staff member Edward Moore received an honorary associate degree in Applied Science in Business Administration from Durham Tech at the College’s May 7, 2024, Commencement ceremony.
Moore spent much of his work life at Durham Tech, and his years of service helped set precedent for future growth of the school’s footprint and student body.
“I am proud of my time at the College, and I am humbled to have been there long enough to have seen much growth and improvement. When I started in 1972, the College had two buildings — White and Collins. The growth in facilities and student body has been incredible,” Moore said. “In all my years and different appointments, I enjoyed myself immensely. I had a passion for the diversity of our student body.”

The SunTrust Foundation recently granted $2,500 to the Durham Technical Community College Foundation to support financial literacy programs on campus.
SOTA is a nonprofit, student-run organization that promotes occupational therapy through community service, public relations, fundraising, and campus activities.
January 2024 saw completion of the six-week BRIDGE program and the beginning of a new chapter for the 11 graduates of the second cohort in the Hayti Reborn-Justice Movement and Durham Tech collaboration that started in 2023.
