Geological Technicians
Geological Technicians test and analyze samples to determine their content and characteristics, using laboratory apparatus or testing equipment.
Allied Health (Continuing Education)
Allied Health encompasses health care professions that identify, diagnose, and treat illnesses and diseases (does not include medicine or nursing). This includes technicians, medical coders, and administrative and other medical staff.
News: Durham Tech marketing department wins national public relations award
The Durham Tech Marketing and Communications Department took the top prize for Quick-Turn Video in the 2021 National Council for Marketing and Public Relations Paragon Awards. The competition honors excellence exclusively among marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges in North America.

Durham Tech won first place in Quick-Turn Video, which featured the 2021 Parade of Graduates. Quick-turn videos are short videos that are produced immediately after an event or activity and must be produced in-house by the College's social media or content team.

Judges noted the planning, thoughtfulness, and sound integration that created a great video experience even with the immediate deadline.
Small Business Center
The Small Business Center provides startup and existing entrepreneurs with the information and tools needed to develop business ideas to become viable, sustainable, profitable, and successful.
News: 60 for 60: Durham Tech creates pathways to four-year universities
For four decades, Durham Tech has been the first college campus for future Eagles, Tar Heels, Wolfpackers, and many other four-year destinations for thousands of Durham and Orange County residents.

In recent years, Durham Tech has developed Guaranteed Admissions Pathways at several nearby universities to give students the security and comfort of knowing these institutions have a spot ready for them.

Durham Tech has also worked to build new articulation agreements to make transferring easier for students in specific programs and for private colleges.
Architecture
Students who ultimately wish to complete a baccalaureate of arts degree in Architecture at UNC-Charlotte would complete the Associate in Arts (AA) degree or the AAS in Architectural Technology degree to transfer into the UNC Greensboro’s 2+ program for Interior Architecture.
News: Durham Tech director receives the National Association of Dental Laboratories (NADL) Educator of the Year award
​​​​​​​Erin Popov, Dental Laboratory Technology (DLT) Program Director/Instructor at Durham Technical Community College, received the 2023 National Association of Dental Laboratories (NADL) Educator of the Year award on January 20. 

“I am humbled to have been nominated and so grateful for being selected,” said Popov. “Teaching takes a lot of heart and hard work and so many other educators are as equally deserving.” 

The NADL Educator of the Year award recognizes one educator annually who has made outstanding contributions to NADL and the dental laboratory profession. An industry member nominated Popov, and she was announced the winner at the awards reception held in Las Vegas, Nevada.  
News: 60 for 60: With Orange County Campus, Durham Tech centralized training hub for residents
When former Durham Technical Community College President Bill Ingram cut the ribbon at the grand opening of the Orange County Campus in May 2008, a new pathway to academic and career successes was created for Orange County residents, but it was a long road to get there.

Prior to the Orange County Campus, Durham Tech had offered credit and non-credit courses in more than 40 Orange County locations since 1999. Classes were taught in high schools, community centers, churches, the Orange County Skills Development Center, and several other locations throughout the county.
Continuing Education Unit (CEU)
Durham Technical Community College is authorized to award continuing education units (CEU) for the successful completion of noncredit Occupational Extension/Continuing Education courses.
Clinical Research
Students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in Clinical Research may complete the Associate in Science (AS) degree or complete an AAS degree that will transfer to Campbell University.
