News: Global Distinction program students visit Washington think tank
During the student activities trip to Washington, DC last week, several students participating in the Global Distinction Program took an afternoon to learn about policy making with a special visit to the Migration Policy Institute (MPI). MPI is a non-partisan, non-profit think tank dedicated to researching issues of migration around the world.
News: Durham Tech program receives international accreditation
The English for Academic Purposes program at Durham Technical Community College has been recognized globally with a recent accreditation from the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation.
Durham Tech is the only community college in North Carolina and one of only seven institutions in the state with the accreditation, according to the Commission’s website.
Project SIGHT/Mobile Health Lab Donation Form
Project SIGHT and the Mobile Health Lab provide free prescription eyewear and health services to children and adults of underinsured/low-income households in Durham County.
Student Fees
All curriculum students (credit programs) are charged a student administrative fee each fall, spring and summer semester. These funds support student clubs and social activities, computer and technology use, college parking and security, student ID cards, and accident insurance for students participating in college classes and functions.
News: Local business leader joins Durham Tech Board of Trustees
Local corporate executive Gracie Johnson-Lopez is the newest member of the Durham Technical Community College Board of Trustees.
Johnson-Lopez is the Founder, President, and Principal Consultant of Diversity & HR Solutions based out of Raleigh. She was sworn in at a Board of Trustees meeting in October.
Mental Health Technician (Continuing Education)
This program provides introductory training for those entering the field of mental health services or as a refresher for those currently working within the mental health or behavioral health field.
Project SIGHT
Project SIGHT provides free prescription eyewear to children and adults of underinsured/low-income households in Durham County.
Social and Human Services AAS
The Durham Tech Social and Human Services program prepares students for careers in social work, case management, and community advocacy. This program equips students with the skills necessary to support individuals and families in need while promoting overall community well-being.
News: Durham Tech partners with East Carolina and UNC Wilmington, adds two new pathways to success
Durham Technical Community College signed a memorandum of understanding with East Carolina University and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in August to offer students an opportunity to seamlessly transfer to two these universities.
