Social and Human Services AAS

Long Term

The Social and Human Services AAS program prepares students for entry-level careers in social work, case management, and community advocacy. The program is designed for individuals seeking foundational knowledge in human services while developing skills to support individuals and families and promote community well-being.

Coursework includes studies in human services foundations, case management, community resources, counseling and helping skills, ethics, and working with diverse populations. Students build practical skills in communication, client support, and service coordination while learning professional and culturally responsive practices.

Graduates will be prepared to support social service agencies, nonprofit organizations, healthcare providers, and community programs while helping meet North Carolina’s growing demand for human services professionals. The program also offers transfer pathways to bachelor’s degree programs in related fields.
