Information Technology - Computer Repair Certificate

Short Term

The Information Technology (IT) curriculum prepares graduates for employment in the technology sector as designers, testers, support technicians, system administrators, developers, or programmers who use computer software and\or hardware to design, process, implement and manage information systems in specialties such as database services, security, business intelligence, healthcare informatics and others depending on the technical path selected within this curriculum.


The Computer Repair certificate plan of study offers technical skills for graduates to become PC support technicians who configure, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair personal computers. Students gain skills in buying parts, upgrading, building, and configuring personal computers. Major hands-on topics include documentation, troubleshooting techniques, PC architectures, storage, memory management, and communications devices. Graduates should qualify for employment in entry-level positions with businesses, educational systems, and governmental agencies which rely on computer systems to manage information. The program will incorporate the competencies of industry-recognized certification exams.

  • Install, configure, and support an organization’s Internet-connected workstation and server systems
  • Support basic IT infrastructure and networking
  • Configure and support PC, mobile and IoT device hardware
